Project title:
CONNECTED SOCIETY
1. NGO SEOBE 99 was founded in the second half of 1999. The Organization objectives and problems are not sufficiently presented in Hungary and internationally. Thus it is of vital importance to provide, in a quality and obvious manner, as much information as possible to the target groups that can provide help and support in solving existing problems.
Aiming to this, the
following activities are needed:
· Civil Radio
performance twice a month
· http://seobe99.tripod.com
Web Site design
· Seobe 99 Bulletin
issuing of bulletin
A necessity to provide
adequate protection and support to those who had chosen rather to desert their country
than to participate in the internationally condemned conflicts has not been given
priority. A conscious tendency of the Project is to be effective on regional level as well
as inter regionally, over the countries borders. So with a help and support of
international institutions there is a possibility to find more reasonable grounds for
solving, in an acceptable manner, the status of those who claimed the political asylum.
NGO SEOBE 99 is entering a
stage of stronger activities meaning that a forth-coming period this Project will provide
conditions for better-coordinated activities with similar and related organizations.
CONNECTED SOCIETY project
is aimed to inform and instruct in proper manner target groups of beneficiaries and those
institutionally responsible to the beneficiaries.
CONNECTED SOCIETY project
will supply ample quality information regarding the intentions and activities to be
carried out.
We find the basis for this
in a fact that III Sector in the developed world proved as socially efficient mechanism
that helps in finding better solutions to existing problems in society.
SEOBE 99 Bulletin would be
printed in 600 copies, of which 200 copies in Hungarian, 200 copies in German and 200
copies in English language.
2. The realization of the Project should start in October 2000 by making out a web site and by January 2001 it would be possible to issue a Bulletin.
The imperative of the
Program is communication with related organizations that are connecting into network and
calling for dialogue.
- Presenting a justified
claim:
Those who left FR of Yugoslavia prior to, or during the recent Kosovo crisis and NATO operations, in order to avoid being drafted into armed forces or those who deserted Yugoslav Army deserve to be granted refugee status.
Refugee status contributes
to freeing from degradable dependence to poverty and fear and also means an opportunity
for development of individual capabilities, as well as a persons liable enter into
the society.
Individuals not taking
part in social life are very often isolated and lonely without any possibility of free
choice.
It is only those who feel
enough safe and secure in society that can manage personal chance of freedom.
We desire equal
opportunities in life and necessary level of social security. Free choice possibility
would lead to greater freedom and individual progress not only within personal life scheme
but also in solidarity with other individuals.
Realization of Project
enables:
-
Cooperation
and connection with similar and related associations;
-
Forming
a solidarity network for mutual activities in spreading the culture of peace and
nonviolence;
-
Performance
of projects that promote anti-militarism, even human rights, a spirit of tolerance,
understanding and initiate international cooperation.
So far we have been
supported by the following organizations.
-Amnesty
International,
-Connection-e.V.,
-MNF
Kopenhagen,
-European
Civic Forum-France
Private persons :
-Milan
Simic - Luxemburg,
Long-term Effects of Project are:
-
Strengthening
and popularization of NGO SEOBE 99
-
Acquiring
experience and knowledge for new projects and activities planned
When evaluating results of
the Project the following will be taken into account:
-
Number
of made contacts with other NGO;
-
Appearance
in public media;
-
Interest
of Hungarian Government institutions to acknowledge refugee status to these individuals;
-
Etc.
Cooperation and connecting
into a network are very important factors of activity encouraging the Project because a
positive experience and knowledge will be conveyed for future activity of the
Organization.
Our position is that, so
far, there was very little information in public, which would eventually, lead or interest
target groups to this problem.
Several members of the
Organization will be actively engaged in the Project.
3. CONECTED SOCIETY project will also have a role, after realization, to provide the future financing means to the Organization for further activities and realization of new projects.

We also issued a folder
that is furnished to related organizations, various media, donators, etc.
We ourselves collect a
literature referring to activities of other NGOs and study their experiences as very
precious for our own activities.
